I Can Feel

January 25th, 2011 + 3:01 PM  ·  anotherdusk

Dark song about trying to understand or cope with something in your life.

This one was also, mix wise the victim of a bad DAT to computer transfer so some of the balance and levels are off a little bit.  Sorry about that.  You can hear all that stuff in the background during the guitar solo - it should have been much louder.  There is also a glitch in the beginning that cuts out for like a half a second.  I suggest turning this one up loud.    But that's just me.  haha

What I feel
I cannot tell quite yet
The day is still too young, and there's things that I forget

That's all I have time to say
so much to do today

I take off my shoes, and leave them by the door
it's been a long life, and my feet are sore

I'm not sure I wanna feel anymore

I think that I've been smoking way too much
too many eyes are looking at me
I think I'll go outside by myself
only me, only me

I can feel a bit frightening at times
but the beauty here is mine
let it shine

I can feel - I think now I understand
now I feel, now I can
now I am

I can feel - I think now I understand
Now I feel, now I can
I know now I understand - let me feel cause I can
I know now I understand - now I feel now I can
now I feel now I can

In The Heart of Happiness

January 25th, 2011 + 3:01 PM  ·  anotherdusk

It's actually title "In the Heart of Happiness and Hope" but I got cut off in the subject line.

This one is a little happier than the other Acoustic Fields's songs.    Evidently we were angsty back then.  hahah

The air is getting clearer, I can breathe again
This is starting to make sense to me, it doesn't have to end
The spell has since been broken and the words flow free
The pages have been left empty, that's ok, I'm back you'll see

So many times
I was so frightened
Until I found you
In the heart, in the heart, in the heart of happiness

So many lessons left me breathless, so many tears again
I only want to be here with you, my lost, my lonely friend
The spell has since been broken, and the words flow free
the pages are filling up now, cause I am back, I'm back you'll see

So many times
I was so frightened
Until I found you
In the heart, in the heart, in the heart of happiness

I see in you a life of new hope
I felt so scared I thought you wouldn't be there but now, I have hope
to see me through the day
to find a better way
You're giving me hope
when I found you
In the heart of happiness and hope.

Dusk

January 25th, 2011 + 1:01 PM  ·  anotherdusk

Most likely where we got the name Another Dusk from (I didn't actually have anything to do with the name, I just agreed to it cause it seems cool to me for a duo).

Anyway - another Acoustic Fields tune from around 1995.  Live it was a total rocker.  Well, until Days of the New came along and stole our thunder!  ahahaha...kidding.  I do love DOTN though.

Let me know what you think - all feedback is welcome.

Panic

January 25th, 2011 + 11:01 AM  ·  anotherdusk

This was a song that I recorded in 2010.  Josh, the singer was still living in Colorado at the time and didn't really have that good of equipment to do the vocals, but he did them and sent them to me and it seems to work (for me anyway).  The vox are definitely noisy and probably a little convoluted...but...that being said, and after listening to it a bunch, seem to work.

We'll probably put a clearer lead voc on it soon, just to have one that sticks out at some point.

Bass was done by the Acoustic Fields bass player Matt Rothfuss and the drums are just a couple of loops I had.

Burgundy

January 25th, 2011 + 9:01 AM  ·  anotherdusk

Hi,

Here is a tune called Burgundy that we recorded around 1993.  We also have a video of just the two of us doing it acoustically on you tube which kinda rocks if you're interested.  Going to try and pop it in here.
